Our Bears
We have a two extra helpers in our Pre- school
group!
Their
names are Baxter and Beatrice Bear and they are introduced to the pre school
children in September and are usually very popular.
Baxter
and Beatrice Bear love to visit the children at home and stay a few days, they
bring a suitcase full of clothes and a few of their favourite things! They also
brings their special books, they like the children to draw a picture and write
a bit about what they have done with Baxter or Beatrice, or make up a story.
They may need help from a grown up or big brother or sister to record the
story!
We
would like Baxter and Beatrice to share their experiences with the rest of the
group when they return to Playgroup. (don’t worry - it’s not homework and
every child will respond differently, there is no maximum or minimum amount
required and stories/drawings can be easily removed from the books if you do
not wish them to be go home and be shared with other families).
We
hope that having Baxter or Beatrice at home will encourage the children to
share their experiences at home with other children and adults, develop their
story telling and creative talents and that he will be a positive link between
home and Playgroup.
We
will also use them at playgroup to convey information such as road safety,
stranger danger or discussing emotions and feelings.
Baxter
and Beatrice will visit by invitation only, if a family or child would like
either bear to visit, then they need to make an invitation at home, making a
note of any inconvenient or special dates.
